Laundry Room - Walls

Well he got drywall up on the walls for the laundry room - just have to mud and tape them and then we can paint them. We are just going to hang a curtain for now and put a door in later on.
We are going to wait to finish the ceiling as we plan to eventually do the kitchen and need access to under the floor for plumbing and such.

We had one box of laminate flooring so Will decided to put in on the basement stair landing... this is the colour we would like and are hoping to use in the living room and kitchen area too... eventually. But that is for another time when there are more funds.

Laundry Room

Well its been awhile since any renos were started (or finished LOL) but they have begun again. Will and the boys started working on a little laundry / storage room in the basement today.

Happy Mothers Day!

Well, it was mother day today - and although someone forgot... he made up for it ;)
Since he had accidently purchased and cut 2x10s for the stairs when we infact needed 2x12s he put his thinking cap on and made me a little surpise.

Ive been nagging him forever to make me an entrance step / deck as its quite the step up to our front door. I LOVE IT - made very happy!

He's also managed to put new steps on all the upper stairs - looking so good our neighbors popped their heads in and got inspired!

Well Will was very busy this morning and already gutted the main stairs - Its looking so awesome!
Nice now that when you come in our front door instead of beeing hit with a wall in your face and not knowing if your suppose to go up or down the stairs to reach the main living portion of the house - now theres a clear view of where to go! :D

The Renos have Begun!

So here we are Phase 1 of Renovations on our home. Im soooo excited about all of this cause its going to take this dated 1970s town house and make it much more modern and open!

First task... Getting rid of the wall that runs thru the centre of the stairwells from the basement to the top floor. (Thats 4 levels)

Dont worry right after I took the photos Will put up temporary handrails so the kids wont get hurt ;)


Next were going to tackle the stairs themselves - tearing off the carpet and removing the backs so they are open. Its going to look amazing!!! And check it out even though we haven't gained any more actual square footage it looks 10x bigger then it did before already!
